Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti National Park covers 14 763 sq. km and its
name means "endless plain". The park is most famous for its spectacular
concentration of wildlife and yearly migration of
wildebeest, zebras and other animals. Each year over one million wildebeest, 200 000 zebras and 300 000
Thompson gazelles follow the rains and migrate to new feeding areas. More than 8 000
wildebeest calves are born before the annual migration starts. One can enjoy a
spectacular hot air balloon ride over the plains on an early morning in Serengeti.
“Just the knowledge that game was beyond the farm gate gave a shine and play to the atmosphere.” Karen Blixen
